8 Month Summary
Milestones: crawling, standing, first tooth, actually starting to enjoy some solids, says "mama," "dada," "baba," and I'm almost positive she says "meow"- or at least her version of it
Likes: Neil (obviously) and just cats in general, meowing, babies, attempting to put small or dangerous items in her mouth, singing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider", turning pages, bananas, going outside, taking glasses off of your face, being tickled, turning off light switches
Dislikes: diaper changes, when bath time ends, her carseat and car rides (which means I equally hate car rides)
Life now-a-days: I've created a safe zone in our living room where Violet can play without fear of cracking her head open. Basically I've made a floodwall consisting of twenty-five pillows that barricade her in on two sides and our sofa provides the other two walls. For about a day she crawled and played within this area without questioning what life was like outside these walls. Now, despite littering her play area with toys, all she wants to do is climb over the mountain of pillows to the other side where she attempts to speed crawl away in whatever direction our cat is going. Even though Violet tries to eat his ears and tail every chance she gets, Neil continues to provide her with escape routes and the encouragement to follow through to the other side.
